Relationship Concerns
I believe a great source of our distress stems from relational struggles, which can result in depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem, among other concerns. As such, I seek to understand your interpersonal dynamics and how they developed, as well as how they may be contributing to other struggles you may be experiencing. I also strive to provide you with a safe space in which you can experience new ways of interacting with others, with the goals of helping you develop new ways of being with others and, subsequently, decreasing other forms of pain that may have arisen.

Identity Struggles
Each individual is made up of multiple identities (i.e. ethnicity, sexual orientation, veteran status, religious identity, etc.), each of which can be more significant than others at different times and in different settings. At times, we experience conflict within ourselves or with others because of how we identify, which can lead us to experience emotional pain. I work to help you understand this conflict and develop ways to cope with these struggles to decrease your suffering and increase your feelings of happiness.

Substance Use
You may also experience problems as a result of using alcohol and/or drugs in a way that has become damaging to your life. When working to address substance use concerns, I try to understand both what first led to your problematic use and what is currently contributing to your use. While I do not require you to not use alcohol or drug use during our time together, I do work collaboratively with you to explore how they are affecting your life, including your relationships, work, and ability to fulfill all of your responsibilities, and to make decisions about any limits you may want to set.
Think We Might be a Good Fit?
Below you will find information about how we might begin working together.

Phone Consultation
The purpose of the initial phone consultation is to allow us to determine if we might be a good fit for working together.
No therapy services will be conducted at this time.
Please allow 10-15 minutes for this phone call, where we will discuss your current concerns, any questions you might have about working with me, and the possibility of scheduling an initial appointment or receiving referrals to other providers. There is no fee related to the initial phone consultation.
Initial Appointment
The purpose of the initial appointment is to gather more thorough information regarding you current struggles, as well as obtaining background information about you. Doing so will allow me to have a fuller picture of who you are and might allow me to see connections between your past and current concerns.
This appointment lasts approximately 60-80 minutes.
At the end of this appointment, we will discuss your specific goals for therapy. We will also make a decision regarding whether or not we are a good match for working together.

Individual Appointments
If we decide we are a good match for working together at the end of the initial appointment, we will begin scheduling individual appointments. The frequency at which we meet will depend on your most pressing concerns and our mutual availability, but will not occur more than once per week. Individual appointments last 45 minutes.
